Houston Chronicle: A Food Lovers’ Extravaganza
Chicago, New York, Washington, San Francisco and even Atlanta play host to some of the country’s biggest gourmet food, entertaining and housewares shows featuring celebrity chefs and cookbook authors.
And now Houston will, too.
The first Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show, a two-day, triple-tier extravaganza – think of it as super-sizing all the things foodies love: gourmet food sampling, shopping, gadgets, wine and spirits tastings, cookbook signings and celebrity chef demonstrations – comes toReliant Center Saturday and Sunday. Houston Chronicle: Paula Deen headlines Metropolitan Cooking Show
Only a month before a liberally buttered and sugaredPaula Deen is set to arrive in Houston for the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show, she received some rather unwanted (and many say unwarranted) press for her unabashedly deep-fried-and-proud-of-it style of cooking. Read More →

Examiner.com: Foodie Families: Don’t miss The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show
If there is one thing I have learned about Houston, it is that we love our food (look at the number and variety of restaurants) and we love to entertain. After all, I think that even Hurricane Ike turned into a cause for entertainment as neighbors and families joined together not only thier resources, but also there foods. Neighbors would strike up the grill to cook in areas without power. These are just a few of the reasons that The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show has decided to come to Houston. Read More →

DC Event Junkie: What You Missed at The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show
The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show drew a diverse crowd from average consumers to serious foodie shoppers. For the general admission ticket holders there were many wide-ranging vendors on site selling everything from olive oil, coffee and cheese to sheets, scarves and linens. The event was very consumer focused, not so much a tasting event. Vendors were giving out small samples but it was mostly designed for attendees to purchase goods on site. I spent quite a bit of time perusing the stalls and taste testing. Read More →
